Is There Music In Heaven?

There are many mysteries that we may never uncover this side of Heaven, but in the meantime we have some incredible glimpses of what we can expect laid out for us in the Bible.

When it comes to music (which is our love language at Influence), we know for sure that heaven is filled with worship and praise based off of Revelation 4 & 5.

“And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9 And they sang a new song…” Revelation 5:8-9.

Harps, Trumpets, Voices singing - all of this is to be expected in the heavenly tabernacle. As Christians who are navigating the world here and now, it's important to remember that we have access to these spiritual realms through the blood of Christ. We connect to the things of the Spirit through remembrance, intercession, dreams, visions, and (our favorite) Worship. The Lord promises that he inhabits the praises of his people, and when we lift him up through song - he will dwell in our midst.

That is why we wrote “Glory, Honor, Power”. To unify our song with the one that we believe is being sung in heaven (Revelation 4). The inception of this song was given to me (melody) in a dream-like state when waking up one morning in January of 2020. The entire melody and about half the lyrics to the chorus were in my head… I thought it was a song that I was remembering (maybe an old Hillsong tune!). After a few days of asking different people if they had heard this song, I finally landed in a session with Jeff Pardo and Tiffany Hudson. Jeff encouraged us to pursue the song and said “The Lord probably gave you that chorus and we are supposed to finish the song!”. Over the next few hours there was so much grace in that room. It just “flowed”. I am so thankful for this song and am praying that it really blesses the Body of Christ, and more importantly - glorifies God!
